Eir Mobile Review Ireland 2026

Ireland · Widest 5G coverage · Eir network

Eir Mobile is ranked #10 with a 7.8/10 score. The network footprint is strong, but the pricing structure is not: Connect starts at €14.99 then moves to €29.99, which is more than double GoMo on the same Eir radio.

Eir Mobile review: key takeaways

  • Eir is an MNO and owns the underlying network, with the Widest 5G coverage label in our table.
  • Connect is €14.99 for 12 months then €29.99, with 65 GB EU roaming on the listed plan. There is a €9.99 once-off SIM activation fee, so year one is €189.87.
  • Complete is €24.99 for 12 months then €34.99, with 75 GB EU roaming plus 200 international minutes and texts.
  • eSIM is available on SIM-only via the eir app.
  • Bill pay rises every April: CPI+3% on older contracts (5.8% in April 2026, +€1.70 on €29.99); plans sold from March 2026 carry a flat €2.50 from April 2027.
  • Broadband customers can get €10 per month off, which can materially change value if you already pay Eir for home broadband.
  • The critical trade-off is month-13 pricing: both listed mobile plans become expensive versus direct alternatives.
  • GoMo uses the same Eir radio at €12.99 for life, so Eir Mobile needs a specific reason beyond intro pricing.

Year-one vs the €12.99 unlimited floor

48, Clear and GoMo are the cheap unlimited 5G SIMs. If this retailer costs more on the same radio, the extra is brand, not coverage.

Who it’s for

Eir Mobile suits people who specifically want the parent MNO account and can use broadband bundling to reduce the bill. It is a weaker fit for price-first buyers, because the post-intro monthly cost is high compared with GoMo and other no-contract options.

Get it if

  • You need Eir network reach and want the parent-brand account rather than a budget sub-brand
  • You can claim the broadband customer €10 per month discount
  • 65 to 75 GB EU roaming and international allowance on Complete match your travel profile
  • You are comfortable auditing month-13 pricing before you commit

Skip it if

  • You want the lowest stable monthly cost on Eir radio
  • You dislike intro pricing that rises sharply after 12 months
  • You do not benefit from Eir broadband bundle discounts
  • You are deciding between Eir mobile and GoMo and only need value

The network

Eir Mobile network owner. Eir Mobile is the mast owner in this case, not an MVNO. You are buying service directly from the same operator that runs the radio network.

GoMo relationship. GoMo is Eir-owned and runs on the same radio infrastructure, but with a different pricing model. Coverage profile can be similar while monthly cost differs a lot. Lycamobile has also ridden Eir since late 2025.

Mobile versus broadband products. This page reviews Eir Mobile SIM plans only. Broadband is a separate product line with different pricing and contract terms.

Our verdict

Eir Mobile sits at rank 10 with a 7.8 score because coverage strength does not offset the long-run price structure for most buyers. The operator has a clear network advantage in many places and carries the Widest 5G coverage label, but headline intros do not tell the full story.

Connect at €14.99 for 12 months looks competitive until month 13, when it becomes €29.99. Complete follows the same pattern at €24.99 then €34.99, in exchange for 75 GB EU roaming and 200 international minutes and texts. Connect carries 65 GB. Those allowances are among the best in the table, but pricing remains the central issue — and a €9.99 activation fee plus the April rise sit on top.

For a direct same-network benchmark, read GoMo review. If you want a focused head-to-head, use Eir vs GoMo. If you came here for home internet, that is a different product and the right page is Eir broadband review.

We score Eir Mobile on value, data, contract fairness, coverage, roaming usefulness, and service experience. Figures are provider plan data in our August 2026 dataset. We separate intro offers from thereafter pricing because long-run cost is where many mobile deals fail.
