Eir Connect also runs on a rolling contract, but its €14.99 intro becomes €29.99. For most people, that only works if Eir coverage is essential at home or work.
Best 12-month SIM-only plans
Sky at €12.99 for unlimited is the standout if you are fine with a 12-month term. You get 5G and eSIM on Vodafone radio, free EU/UK roaming and Piggybank rollover, at the same monthly price as the rolling trio. Virgin at €15 for life is the alternative: 37 GB stated EU/UK roaming and up to six SIMs with no year-two jump, but it is 4G only on Three masts.
Vodafone Red Unlimited 15 is the direct MNO option at the same €15 point. It can suit people who want the network owner account, but avoid drifting into the higher tiers unless you need their extras.
Plans to treat carefully
Tesco Elevate is the biggest trap in this category. It starts at €15, then typically lands at €30 after 12 months. That is dearer than many better plans.
Three direct plans are usually dearer than 48, even though 48 uses Three radio. Choose Three for perks and account features, not because it is the cheapest route to unlimited data.
