matched.ie is an independent Irish comparison service. **VPNs** are our first live category: we test and rank them for people in Ireland, with pricing shown in euro and Irish use-cases front and centre: streaming RTÉ Player, GAA and Irish TV while abroad, getting an Irish IP address when travelling, unblocking UK/US catalogues, and Irish law — from VPN legality to torrenting, "dodgy boxes" and the new online-safety age-verification rules. **Broadband** is live: we rank Irish *retailers* (not wholesale networks) on contract fairness, year-two cost, coverage and technology at the Eircode. **Mobile** is live: we rank Irish SIM, prepay and data-only retailers (MNOs and MVNOs) on advertised price versus thereafter, the host network, roaming, and whether "unlimited" is actually throttled. Energy comparisons are planned.

Every verdict is produced by a named specialist to a published methodology. For VPNs we score each provider across seven weighted dimensions — speed, streaming access, privacy & logging, ease of use, server network, customer support and value — and let that drive the score and ranking. For broadband we score retailers on published prices, contract terms, coverage and technology — never invented lab Mbps. For mobile we score retailers on value, plan and data, contract fairness, coverage (the mast owner, not the logo on the SIM), roaming and customer service. Rankings follow the evidence, never commercial relationships: a provider cannot pay for placement, a higher score, or a softer verdict, and we recommend against products we don't rate. The site is affiliate-funded, disclosed openly, and that funding never changes a result. This independence, our transparent testing method and our Irish-market focus are the reason our rankings are trustworthy — both are documented on the editorial-policy and how-we-test pages below.
